Local law enforcement officials said Friday that they had completed “Operation Wake Up Call” which resulted in the arrest of three individuals. The two search warrants were executed on January 16, 2015 by members of the MARMET / METRICH Drug Task Force, Marion Police Department, Marion City SRT, and Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The operation took place just after 7:00am with detectives serving a warrant in the 600-block of South Prospect Street and another in the 340-block of East Church Street. The joint operation was conducted after a several week investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics.
In the 600-block of South Prospect Street, MARMET detectives said they located drugs and cash. Arrested from the house on South Prospect Street were:
- Justin A. Stanley, age 27, of Marion, Ohio. Stanley was charged with possession of heroin, possession of criminal tools, and two outstanding warrants.
- Jorge Fuentes, age 30, of Chicago, IL. Fuentes was charged with possession of heroin and tampering with evidence.
- Daphne Carter, age 24, of Marion, Ohio. Carter was charged with possession of heroin, possession criminal tools, and endangering children.
All three were taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center to await the filing of formal charges.
Officials said they recovered 42.3 grams of heroin and $3,980 in cash from the 600-block of South Prospect Street.
The second search warrant was executed in the 340-block of East Church Street. Detectives at this location said they seized 2.8 grams of crack cocaine as well as $772.00 in cash.
“MARMET officers are doing an outstanding job of investigating drug houses,” stated Lt. Chris Adkins. “They will keep giving their all to slow the drug trade and rid neighborhoods of problem neighbors.”
