William C. “Bill” Rose Jr., 59 of Richwood, died Wednesday, January, 28, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born November 30, 1955 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late William C. and Gloria (Corey) Rose Sr.
He was the owner and operator of the former Bill Rose Ford in Richwood after having bought the dealership from his father in 1996. He also owned and operated the former Bert & Ernie’s Pizza in Richwood, as well as Rose Fencing. Bill was active with Richwood Village Council in many capacities, eventually serving as active mayor at the time of his death. He had also operated the former Gene’s Body Shop in Richwood. Bill enjoyed taking riding trips with family and friends on his Harley. He was a hard worker and believed in doing things right.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki (Klaiber) Rose, Richwood, whom he married August 21, 1987 in Richwood; a son, Cory (Chrissy) Schultz, Richwood; a daughter, Erica Marie Hess, Texas; a brother, Corey D. (Lori) Rose, Pataskala; a sister, Gloria (Tom) Hipp, Columbus; six grandchildren, Braelyn, Aubree , Celeste, Katelyn, Lauren and Tyler; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Eva Klaiber, Richwood, brother and sister in laws: Dennis (Leslie) Klaiber, Debbie (Greg) Schultz and Jerry Klaiber all of Richwood. Nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geralyn (Malkoviak) Rose.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Richwood First United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 8 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.
