Lynne Rochelle Cianfa, 60, of Caledonia

Lynne Rochelle CianfaLynne Rochelle Cianfa, 60, of 479 Whetstone River Road North, Caledonia, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at her home after her courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 26, 1954 to Hobert and Dolores Ann (Dolph) Grimsley.

Lynne grew up in Akron, Ohio, graduating from Kenmore High School in 1972.  After high school, she attended Akron University, and later in 1990, she graduated with her associate’s degree in nursing from Tri-Rivers Career Center in Marion.  She worked at Woodside Village Nursing Home in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Dr. A. Chaudry’s Oncology Office in Marion, Ohio, and most recent, Harding High School in Marion, Ohio.

Lynne married John Cianfa on Dec. 20, 1980 in Akron, Ohio.  Surviving are: son, Jefferson Cianfa of Caledonia, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Clayton Wetzel of Marion, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, James and Darlene Grimsley of Akron, Ohio; sister-in-law, Barbara Lofink of Carthage, New York; three beloved nieces and one nephew, and as well as many cherished friends.

Lynne was predeceased by her husband, who died on Sept. 30, 2000.

Lynne was an incredible mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and nurse.  It was clear her passion was taking care of others.  As a member of St. Mary’s Church in Marion, Ohio, she sang in the church choir and helped high school students through the Confirmation process.  In her spare time, she enjoyed music, reading, cooking and spending time with loved ones.  She loved nothing more than vacationing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado or putting her toes in the sand in Delray Beach, Florida.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at St. Mary’s Church, Marion.  Gunder Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, a division of Snyder Funeral Homes, is in charge of all arrangements.
