Kenneth P. Norton age 91 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Heartland of Marion.
He was born October 8, 1923 in Marion to the late LLoyd and Osee (Edmundson) Norton Betz.
On January 1, 1949 in Greenup, Ky., he married A. Lucille Wittibslager and she survives him.
Kenneth was retired from the Ohio Edison Company after forty years of service. He was a member of the Ohio Edison Retirees Club, the Marion Senior Citizens, and was a member of the Prospect St. United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and NASCAR racing. Kenneth served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy.
Besides his loving wife, he leaves behind a daughter, Becky (Merwyn) VanderLind of Powell, Ohio, and two sons; James Norton of Marion, Ohio, and Jay Paul (Carol) Norton of St. Mary’s, Ohio. Four grandchildren survive; Kendra McConnell, Joseph (Jewellene) McConnell, Amy Norton (Lukas Lehmann), and Jamie (William) Goudy. Three great grandchildren also survive; Kesley Gregory, Kieran Goudy, and Chase McConnell, as well as a niece survives.
Besides his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a sister, Doris McCombs.
Funeral Services will be on Friday February 6, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dwight Hord. Burial will follow in the LaRue Cemetery in LaRue, Ohio with Military Rites by the Marion Area United Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday February 5, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M.
