Ruth W. Retterer, age 91, of Marion and formerly of Marysville, died Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2015, at Kingston Residence in Marion.
On December 17, 1923, Ruth was born in Radnor, Ohio, one of five children of the late Jacob and Alma (Moyer) Kaelber. She was raised in Waldo, Ohio, where she graduated from Waldo High School in the Class of 1941.
Ruth was a loving homemaker and helping farm hand for her husband, Richard “Dick” Retterer, for many years. She also worked as a school librarian aid for the Delaware City Schools.
A woman of faith, Ruth was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marysville, and formerly of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Delaware.
She will be missed by her son, Don Richard (Chris) Retterer of Marysville; three grandchildren; twin siblings: Donald Kaelber of Delaware, and Doris Groves of Marion; a sister-in-law, Juanita Retterer Theile; a brother-in-law, Warren Groves; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Including her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her twin brother, Robert Kaelber; and sister, Margaret Bernow.
Services honoring Ruth’s life were observed privately by family and close friends. Burial took place in Waldo Cemetery.
