Shelby Jean “Mawmaw” Carroll, age 78, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 1:15 a.m. in her daughter’s Marion home.
She was born on February 24, 1937 in New Boston, Ohio to Ernest and Ruby (Forth) Bailey.
On February 28, 1953 she married Everett Wayne Carroll in Marion, Ohio and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2002.
Shelby was a longtime member of the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church. She was an assistant at the Glenwood Preschool for 11 years and later was employed with Walmart as a greeter for 5 years.
Surviving are a son, Darrell (Joan) Carroll of Marion, OH.; four daughters, Shelby Clark, Kathy (Larry) Williams, Patty (Kenny) Jeffers, and Trudy (Tim) Sams all of Marion, OH.; a sister, Ellen (Don) Haycook of Bucyrus, OH.; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held in the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton St., Marion from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rev. Corey Carroll will be officiating and burial will be in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
