Alva M. Coykendall age 54 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his residence.
He was born December 25, 1960 in Marion, Ohio to the late Wesley Steven and Phyllis Ann (Terry) Coykendall.
Alva was employed at Kirby’s Auto as a mechanic for several years, was a member of Moose Lodge #889, Eagles and was a longtime customer of Midway Tavern and Stag Bar.
He is survived by his children, Jessica Coykendall of Marion, Alva Coykendall Jr. of Marion, Jason Coykendall, Donald Coykendall of Marion, Mary (John) Fox of Guam, Robert Coykendall of Marion, 11 grandchildren, former wife and caregiver, Gail Hart of Marion, his brother, John (Sherry) Coykendall of Marion, his sister, Pam (Ed) Gains of Marion and numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Ellery Noah Coykendall, his brother, Michael Terry, his sister, Sherrill Byers and his first wife, Drema (Murphy) Coykendall.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Middleton officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
