Bessie “Pauline” P. Rasey, 71, of Marion passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Partners of Marion Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 2, 1939 in Marion to the late William Paul and Bessie Irene (Morris) Doolittle.
She married Sherwood Lee Rasey March 14, 1956. Sherwood passed away May 23, 2005.
Bessie was a member of Home Missionary Holiness Church.
Bessie is survived by sons, Robert, Alan (Jessica), and Michael (April) Rasey all of Marion; daughters, Julia (Jerry) Bays of Galion, Ohio, Ruth (Jeffrey) Hixon of Marion; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, brothers, Jim Doolittle of West Mansfield, Ohio, Frank (Debbie) Doolittle of Marion, and Dana Paul Doolittle of Denver, Colorado; sister, Ruth Jane (Ronald) Jolliff of Powell, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sons, Sherwood Jr., and Edward Charles; and brother, William.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1 PM at Home Missionary Holiness Church with Pastor Virgil Sherriff officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Friends and loved ones may visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 11 AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in care of Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
