Alice V. Sebring Bruns, age 59, of Mount Gilead died early Wednesday morning, January 12, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on March 8, 1951 in Milton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Evans) Lewis.
Alice was a graduate of Columbus South High School and has been a member of the Mount Gilead community for 25 years.
On September 17, 2006 she married Jim Bruns in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A proud wife, mother, and grandmother, Alice loved to work her magic in the kitchen; cooking and baking were definitely her specialty.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW and the AmVets and was the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was previously a member of the Galion Moose Lodge.
She will be missed by her husband James; her daughters Michell Ousley and her husband Michael of Havelock, North Carolina and Amy Cover and her husband Brent of Cardington; three step-children Amy Moody and her husband Howard of Cardington, David Bruns of Caledonia, and Jennifer Tuggle and her husband Chad of Fredericktown; four grandchildren Taylor, Hunter, MacKinzie, and Alexandria; six step-grandchildren; and her brother Donald Evans of Zanesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Max Sebring of 18 years and her brother Rush Lewis.
Friends may call on the family on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 1-3 & 5-7 PM and an hour before the service at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead. Pastor Mark Tuggle will conduct services there on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Worden Cemetery.
