Pauline Jane (Brown) SchroeckPauline Jane (Brown) Schroeck, age 86, of Marion passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Kingston of Marion.

Pauline was born August 21, 1928 in Union City, PA to the late James and Mae Brown.

Pauline attended Mercyhurst College and later graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and a Master’s degree in Education both from The Ohio State University.  She taught for over twenty-two years at George Washington Elementary School.

Pauline married Joseph G. Schroeck on July 3, 1948; he preceded her in death on December 9, 2011.

Pauline was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Marion, Ohio, a former member of The National Education Association, Phi Delta Kappa, Daughters of American Revolution- Fort Le Boeuf- Waterford, PA, Marion Education Association, and Ohio Education Association.

She was proudly recognized as a Jennings Scholar. Pauline is survived by children, Gerard Schroeck of Tucson, AZ, Edward (Carol) Schroeck of Ellsworth, MI, Barbara (David) Shine of Fostoria, OH and Sharon Hoover of Marion; ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and sister, Annabelle Brown-Alexandrowicz. In addition to Joseph, Pauline was predeceased by brothers, Earl, Max, Arden, Clifford, and Carl Brown; and sisters, Opal Brown Warner, and Ida Brown Szall. The Schroeck Family would like to thank everyone who helped care for Pauline.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2 until 5 PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.  A Mass will be celebrated 10AM Monday, April 27, 2015 with Father Thomas Buffer presiding.  Interment will take place June 3, 2015 in Calvary Cemetery, Erie, PA.
