Walter Richard “Dick” SnyderWalter Richard “Dick” Snyder, II, age 61 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 1, 2015 in Marion.

Dick was born on December 28, 1953 in Chillicothe Ohio, the son of Walter Richard and Fleita F. (Maloy) Snyder, I.

Upon graduating high school he attended The Ohio State University obtaining a bachelors degree of science in business. Dick finished his career working for the Whirlpool Corporation retiring as the manager of materials.

On December 20, 1972 Dick married the love of his life, Dixie (Anderson) Snyder, in Clintonville WV. Together they enjoyed 42 years of marriage and raised three wonderful children.

Being a man of strong faith, he was a 25 year member of Marion First Church of the Nazarene where he faithfully served on many church boards.

Dick truly loved being outdoors every chance he could get. He could be found working in his yard or enjoying a round of golf. He loved his alma mater and therefore was a huge Buckeye fan. Above all Dick was a family man who loved making memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories include his wife Dixie; Daughters: Candace (Matt) Craycraft and Courtney (Adam) Ruth; Son Walter R. “Rich” (Wendi) Snyder III; Grandchildren Elany, Colton, Noah, Macie, Eli, and Ethan; Sister Brenda (Jim) Blankenship; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Dick was greeted at Heaven’s gate by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2015 at the Marion First Church of the Nazarene, 233 W. Church St., Marion from 5:00pm to 8:00pm; Funeral services will be held at the church on Tuesday at 1:00pm with Pastor Don Diehl officiating; Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

If so desired, donations may be made to Marion First Church of the Nazarene.
