Michael Eugene Virden, 60 of Delaware, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 3, 2015.
He was born in Kenton, Ohio on September 23, 1954, the son of the late Richard E. and Mary A. (Danner) Virden.
Mike was a 1972 graduate of Elgin High School. He worked for Marion Power Shovel for 10 years, Marion General Hospital as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for 15 years and for Grandview and Southview Hospitals as Nuclear Medicine Technologist Manager. He was a member of Alley United Methodist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Mike enjoyed many activities and hobbies which included woodworking, fishing, fast cars and motorcycles, playing pool, and throwing darts. He was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes; he collected John Deere memorabilia and loved spending winter weeks in Key West, Florida. But above all he loved spending his time with his family and friends.
On August 11, 1973 Mike married Debra G. (Smith) Virdin who survives.
In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his four daughters, Michelle Lynn Virden, Felicia Melinda (John) Ketteman, Elissa Mignon (Greg Mohlmaster) Virden, and Mary Margaret (Kenneth) Wilson; five grandchildren, Lesley, John Paul, Abbey, Liam, and Vivien; one brother, Dan (Rhonda) Virden; one sister, Rebecca Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by two brothers, William and Paul Virden; and one sister, Carol Virden.
Visitation will be held at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W William St at Valleyside Dr, Delaware, Oh on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 am. A celebration of life will follow visitation starting at 11:00 am with Pastor Dan Grose officiating.
