Rev. Barratt R. Banta, who lived in Bristol Village, a retirement community in Waverly, Ohio, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
Barratt was born on September 3, 1931 in Grass Valley, California and grew up in Oakland, CA.
A graduate of Pasadena College, San Francisco Theological Seminary, and the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, he served as pastor of Presbyterian churches in New Richmond, Ohio; Loves Park, Illinois; Marion, Ohio; Yellow Springs, Ohio; and Houghton Lake, Michigan before retiring and moving into Bristol Village in December of 2000.
Barratt is survived by a sister; Barbara Self of Pahrump, NV. and a brother; Richard Banta of Chico, CA. His daughter; Carol Jayne Banta lives in Bethesda, MD.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Burial, following cremation, will be in the Marion Cemetery.
