Donald E. Ewing Jr., 70, of Marion

Donald E. Ewing Jr., age 70, of Marion passed away at his residence on Monday, May 25, 2015.

He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 24, 1944 to the late Donald E. and Kathleen (Young) Ewing.

Don served in the U.S.Navy during the Vietnam War.

On November 8, 1969 in Marion, Ohio he married the former Joyce A. Allen  and she survives in Marion.

Don attended the Center Point Church. He enjoyed life and especially loved his family and  his three granddaughters; Arielle, Lilli, and Anna. He was an avid golfer and at one time scored a hole-in-one at the Mar-O-Del Golf Course.

Surviving along with his wife; Joyce and granddaughters are two daughters; Donyell (Bryan) Wenig of Marion, OH. & Shannon (:Patrick) Magill of Delaware, OH., and a brother; Gerald (Cindy) Ewing of Dayton, OH.

Don was employed for 25 years in the maintanance dept. at GTE before retiring in 1997.

Upon retirement, Don and Joyce moved to Florida, his dream location, and later returned to Marion.  He went on to teach drivers education for Ault’s Driving School and Ace Driving School.

Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Jeff Smith on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the Center Point Church, 2303 Marion-Mt.Gilead Rd., Marion, with burial to follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
