Barbara J. West age 87 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Thursday May 28, 2015 at the Marion General Hospital.
She was born October 12, 1927 in Marion to the late Charles O. and Marie (Orth) Burke Giar.
On January 8, 1949 in Marion, Ohio she married Richard E. West and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1997.
Barbara was retired as a Dental Assistant for thirty-five years with Dr. Ralph Burton. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Marion and was active in the community and was a member of A.A.R.P., P.E.O., the Marion County Historical Society, Marion Union Station Association, and also volunteered at the Heritage Hall.
Barbara is survived by two sisters; Peggy (Harry) Moler of Lexington, Ky. and Joanne Teets of Marion, Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Charles O. Burke.
Funeral Services will be on Monday June 1, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Merlyn Winters. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday May 31, 2015 from 3 to 5 P.M.
