Allan A. Brinkman, age 70, of Marion, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 at home.
Allan was born September 8, 1944 in Lima, Ohio to the late Vincent M. and Mildred (Kaufman) Brinkman.
Allan graduated from Glandorf High School and later proudly served his country from 1966 until 1968 in the US Army.
Allan married Kathleen M. Neiger on April 8, 1972 and she survives.
Allan formerly worked for GTE for 35 years and later retired from Verizon as their fleet budgeting manager.
Allan was the past treasurer for the Marion Popcorn Festival for 8 years, treasurer of Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association and a member of St. Mary Church and the Knight of Columbus in Marion, Ohio.
In addition to Kathleen, Allan is survived by son, Adam A. (Brandi) Brinkman, of Waldo; grandson, Hogan Allan; brothers, William (Suzy) Brinkman of Glandorf, Tom (Janice) Brinkman of Georgia, David (Nancy) Brinkman of Glandorf; sister, Mary Jo (Darrell) Neuenschwander of Cold Water, MI; brother-in-law, David Kimmit and numerous nieces and nephews.
Allan was predeceased by sister, Susan Kimmit.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8PM, Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM by Father Kent Kaufman (cousin) at St. Mary Church, Marion, on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military honors provided by The Marion County United Veterans Council.
