Paul R. “Bobby” Johnson age 66 of Grove City, Ohio and formerly of Marion, Ohio passed away Thursday June 25th 2015 at the Wexner Heritage Village Zusman Hospice Care Center from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.
Bobby was born June 30, 1948 in Ashland Ohio to Paul S. and Irene M. (Matthes) Johnson.
He graduated from Marion Harding High School.
Bobby worked as a pipe fitter and was a part of The Plumbers & Pipe fitters Union Local 189 in Columbus Ohio. Through his job as a pipe fitter he became a welding instructor and taught for many years. He later ran his own business as a welding inspector which kept him busy during retirement.
Bobby had a passion for life outdoors. He would not pass up the opportunity of grabbing a fishing pole and heading out to a local fishing spot. He also spent a lot of his time on his boat on Lake Erie. He also had a love for hunting, especially deer hunting. When not hunting or fishing, he loved riding his Harley and being around his friend’s sharing stories along with making new ones.
Bobby will be dearly missed by his daughter Monica Light: stepson Patrick Phillips; grandchildren: Cody, Alex, Isaac, Nicholas, and Bella; sisters: Kay, Shirley, and Annette and his brother Harry.
Bobby was met at Heaven’s gates by his parents.
Services honoring his life will be held at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion July 11th at 11:00 a.m. with Kevin Kehn officiating.
