Lowell R. "Dick" Craft age 66 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1944 in Marion, Ohio to the Late Lowell M. and Mary A. (McPeek) Craft.
On August 9, 1984 he married A. Ruth (Berry) Craft.
Lowell was formerly employed at the Erie Lakawanna Railroad, M.P.S., and then Marion Steel / Nucor Steel which he retired from after 21 years as a maintenance supervisor. He attened Church of Christ in Christian Union, enjoyed fishing and golfing at New Winchester Golf Course. He was an avid bowler for many years in Marion where is the the former director of the Marion Bowling Association and a member of the Marion Bowling Hall of Fame.
He is survive by his wife, A. Ruth Craft of Marion, a son, Carl D. (Michelle) Craft of Marion, three step sons, Glenn A. Davis of Marion, Victor M. (Rhonda Stock) Davis of Marion, Rodney L. Davis of Marion, two grandchildren, one great grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, a brother, Gary (Ruth) Craft of Marion, his loving companion – Corky his dog, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley White.
Visitation for Lowell will be Friday, February 11, 2011 from 6 – 8 PM and Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 12 – 1 PM at the Church of Christ in Christian Union 1709 Bellefountain Ave. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 1 PM at the church with Pastor John Burr officiating, burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Marion General Hospital Hospice or American Cancer Society or to the Church of Christ in Christial Union. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
