Memorial services for Betty F. Cooper will begin at 5:00 pm Friday, August 7th at Central Baptist Church of Marion. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Grove Cemetery in Kenton, Ohio.
“Grandma Betty”, as she was known to many, went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2015. She was 86 years old. She was born May 6, 1929 in Logan County, West Virginia to James Ellison and Martha Alice (Estep) Pauley. In August of 1948, she married James “Bud” Cooper, who preceded her in death. Together, they raised 6 children; 5 boys and a girl. Surviving are James “Russ” (Betty-deceased) Cooper and of Marion, Randall (Dorothy) Baum of Dunkirk, her prayer partner Ellen Newman of Marion, 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a brother, Dennis Pauley of Mississippi. Preceding her in death was her son Jerry Lee Cooper, James, Ronnie, David Cooper and Shirley Howard Reich. Also, 6 brothers and 7 sisters.
Betty lived and worked in Kenton, Ohio for many years before moving to Marion, Ohio to be closer to her son and his family. She retired from Whirlpool. Above all else, Betty loved the Lord and her faith was an example to many.
“Grandma Betty” enriched the lives of all who knew her and she was greatly loved. Her “hugs” will be missed by many.
