Jimmie D. Harris, 81, of Caledonia

Jimmie D. HarrisJimmie D. Harris age 81, of Caledonia, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 19, 2015 at his residence.

Jimmie was born on September 3, 1933 in Marion, the son of William and Pauline (Newell) Harris.

On February 19, 1955, Jimmie was united in marriage to Virginia Ann Wick at the Prospect Street United Methodist Church in Marion.

Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He had a landscaping business that he very much enjoyed working with his son-in-law. He was a man that truly valued his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. He doted over his grandchildren and adored his great grandchild. He shared a hobby of trap shooting with his son. He and Ginny attended the Caledonia Methodist Church.

He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Virginia “Ginny” Harris; his loving children: Ron (Traci) Harris, Julie (Ron) Carlyle and Beth (Jamey Roth) Harris; beloved grandchildren: Taylor Harris, Matthew Harris, Abby (Jake) Yates and Angela (Nick) Brown; great grandchild Hayden Brown and his sister Delores.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.

Visitation will be Sunday August 23, 2015 at the Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home, 347 West Center St. Marion, from 2PM to 5PM; Funeral services will be held Monday at the funeral home at 1PM; Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.

If so desired, donations may be made to the Ohio Health Hospice, formerly known as Marion General Hospital Hospice.
