Clinton R. “Bud” Lower, 83, of Prospect

Clinton R. “Bud” Lower, 83, of Prospect passed away Friday evening, February 11, 2011 at Heartland of Marion.

He was born July 28, 1927 in Marion to the late Benjamin and Vera (Schwaderer) Lower. He married Ethel Hout August 3, 1973 in Mt. Gilead.

Bud was a United States Army Veteran and served during WWII. He was drafted at the age of 17 and stationed in Germany. He served as an MP, and was proud to have had the responsibility of guarding the papers which were to be used in the Nuremberg Trials. Bud was a manager with the Huber Corp. and HPM. After retiring he worked at Emanuel Lutheran Church as custodian.

Bud is survived by his wife, Ethel; and stepchildren, Beth Ann Baer, Grant Hout, and Karen West. In addition he is survived by his first wife Phylliss; and their children: son, Jay (Francis) Lower of Marion, and daughters, Kathy (Lee) McCafferty of Richwood, and Sharon Lower of Marion. He is also survived by multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 1 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Claridon Cemetery where military rites will be performed by Marion Area Veteran’s Council. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 16 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
