Shauna L. Simpkins, age 37 of Marion, passed from this life on Monday September 28, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus where she was surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 16, 1977 in Marion. She graduated from Marion Harding High School and was employed at PPG in Delaware prior to her illness.
Shauna fought a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and ALS disease. Everyone who was close to her knew her fighting spirit. She always said ALS has not been easy on her but she refused to go easy on it and put up a courageous battle that lasted 4 years.
Shauna was known for speaking her mind but was always first to lend a hand. She loved OSU games, bonfires, kitchen gadgets, music and animals.
Shauna will live on through her children: Cameron M. and Madelyne O. Anderson; her mother and “pop” Mary and George Mahaffey; grandparents: Russell and Beryl Pyles; siblings: John, Josh, Billy, Tiffany and Tabitha; her “wicked step-mother” Tami Hurtt Simpkins; aunt of Karter and Kiley; special cousin Nicole Noblet and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially Kim Konvalinka.
Because of her love for animals; if so desired, donations may be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at Shepherd’s Fellowship Church, 1647 Marion-Marysville Rd, Marion, at 2PM.
