Thomas (Tom) L. Eckard age 72 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born November 25, 1942 in Marion, Ohio to the late Charles and Olive Evangeline (England) Eckard.
On December 17, 1960 Tom married Frieda Mae Blair and she survives.
Tom retired from Honda of America as a maintenance coordinator, but before that he also worked at the former Quaker Oats Company.
Tom will be greatly missed by his sons, Teddy Eckard and Mark (Carol) Eckard both of Marion, Ohio. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsay) Eckard, Brooke (Chris) Hook, Ashley Eckard, Zach Eckard, and Josh Eckard all of Marion, Ohio. He has four great grandchildren who were the sunshine in his smile. Tom is also survived by a sister, Judy Hickok, and two brothers, Warren and Richard Eckard.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by eight sisters and six brothers.
Tom was known by family and friends to be a jokester and the most generous man on the planet. He was famous for telling his sons, “I forgot more than you’ll ever know” and they agree with him. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
There will be no services for Tom, but there will be a two hour visitation for him on Wednesday November 11, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date.
