Betty Emily Evans, age 68, of Marion passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 6:54 PM in the Marion General Hospital.
She was born on May 3, 1947 in Marion, Ohio to the late George and Florence (Siler) Dye.
Betty married Clifford T. Evans in Marion,Ohio on November 27, 1993 and he survives.
She was a member of the Richland Road Church of Christ and the Artisans Guild where she served as past president. She has been owner & operator of Olde Towne Barber Shop for over 30 years.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by three sons; Jay Essex (Cindy) Wood of Marion, OH., Jamie Essex (Jennifer) Wood of Harpster, OH., & Jeremy (Jennifer) Wood of Columbus, OH., a stepson; Christopher Thomas (Jessica) Evans of Great Falls, MT., a stepdaughter; Samantha J. Evans of Manteno, IL., three brothers; David (Taunda K.) Dye, Ples (Sandy) Dye, & Dale (Lori) Dye all of Marion, Oh. 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Russell Howard will conduct the funeral service in the Richland Road Church of Christ on Friday at 10:00 AM with burial at a later date in the Marion Cemetery.
