Eulah E. BakerEulah E. Baker, age 76, of Marion, died Tuesday evening, November 3, 2015, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a short illness.

On February 3, 1939, Eulah was born in Marion, Ohio, one of eleven children of the late Clayton J. and Auttie M. (Sanders) Rivers.

Over fifty seven years ago, Eulah married the love of her life, Donald W. Baker Sr., on July 28, 1958.

In addition to being a loving homemaker taking care of her husband and four sons, Eulah also worked at Abbott’s in Prospect and Quaker Oats in Marion.

Baptized in faith, Eulah was a member of the International Pentacostal Church of Christ in Marion.

An excellent cook, Eulah enjoyed spoiling the men in her life with a good meal.  She also enjoyed fishing trips up to Lake Erie, and reading a good mystery novel.

The matriarch of the family, everyone always knew where Eulah stood.  She also had a knack for making everyone laugh.

She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Donald W. Baker Sr.; four sons: Ross (Carol) Baker, both of Marion, Donald (Tara) Baker Jr. of New Bloomington, Charlie Baker of Marion, and Walter (Laura) Baker of Cardington; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; a brother, Clayton “Sparky” Rivers Jr.; two sisters: Cookie Tillman and Peggy Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Eulah was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mercedes Baker; and two brothers and five sisters.

Her family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, November 13th, at the Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home, 347 W. Center St., Marion.  Services honoring her life will also be held there on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Grover Caudill officiating.  Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with unexpected expenses.
