Margaret Elizabeth Baker, 92 of Richwood died Monday morning, November 9, 2015 at the Gables in Marysville. She was born August 9, 1923 in Jackson Township to the late Lawrence L. and Mildred (Kater) Chandler.
She was an active member of the Rush Creek United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women. She had also been a member of the former Jackson Township Grange. A 1941 graduate of Richwood High School, she attended Marion Business College and had been employed at O. M. Scotts of Marysville. She married James H. Baker on March 12, 1945 and for the next 60 years family became the center of her life. She worked on the family farm until her husband’s death on March 2, 2005. Margaret and James had always enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (Peggy) Baker, Marion; Gary (Lisa) Baker, Richwood; a daughter, Marcia (John) Livingston, Richwood; four grandchildren, Amber (Doug) Richardson; Brooke (Matthew) Keever; Molly (Eric) Schwartz, Beavercreek; Noah Livingston, Louisville, Kentucky; six great-grandchildren, Dalton and Chloe Richardson; Ellie and Rylan Keever; Emma and Ava Schwartz; a brother, Ivan (Alice) Chandler, Richwood. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Gayton.
Funeral service will be Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Rev. Dr. Harley Roston officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
