Darlene Ruth Woodrum 82 of Marion Ohio went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday November 27, 2015 surrounded by her family at Kindred Nursing Home.
She was born March 23rd, 1933 in Marion, Ohio to the late Merrill and Wanda Bailey. On June 4th, 1951 she married Paul E. Woodrum and they shared 64 wonderful years together.
Darlene was employed for 25 years at Community Med Center and the Smith Clinic. She regularly attended Cornerstone Alliance Church. She was a lovely and strong woman with a great sense of fun and laughter. A devoted wife and mother she loved caring for her family. She was a great bowler in her day and was voted Marion County Woman Bowler of the Year four times and was a member of the Marion County Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband Paul, daughter Diane (Charles) Blevins of Marion, son Daniel Woodrum of Marion, daughter Karen Woodrum of Denver, Colorado, sister Avonell Tillis of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother William Bailey of Utah, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia Kay, and seven siblings, Valeska Wright, Roy Bailey, Dorothy Pace, Donald Bailey, Loren (Red) Bailey, Richard Bailey and Phyllis Simpson.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday December 2nd from 5pm to 8pm at Boyd-Born Funeral Home 122 W. Columbia St. Marion, Ohio. Graveside services will be held Thursday December 3rd at 11:00am at Marion Cemetery, Pastor Tim Miller officiating.
