William “Bee” Cummings Jr., 78, of Delaware

William “Bee” CummingsWilliam “Bee” Cummings Jr. age 78 of Delaware passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Marion Manor following a 2 year long illness due to a stroke.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late William Sr. and Esther (George) Cummings on January 7, 1937, he was a proud US Air Force Veteran.  Originally from Penn Wynne, PA, he then resided in King of Prussia, PA, before moving to Waldo, OH in 1986. He retired as the manager of Purex Industrial in Marion.

In 1968 he married Linnea (Anderson), sharing 47 wonderful years, together they raised a family, made a home, traveled and shared in all the food of life.  Bill was dedicated to his family and providing for their every need.

Quiet and patriotic in nature, he was not a joiner and was meticulous about his yard. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Philadelphia Eagles, and fishing the waters of Canada. He enjoyed the beach and traveling, especially time spent at Jamaica and South Bethany, Delaware.

Bill will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, particularly his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife Linnea, son Dr. William (Darlene) Cummings of Avondale, PA, daughter Jami (Doug) Sager of Delaware, grandchildren Cali, Ellie, Mitch Cummings, Sophi Sager, brothers Jack (Joyce) of West Palm Beach, FL, Bob (Carol) of Willingboro, NJ, sister Carol (Richard) Wachter of Sea Isle City, NJ, sisters-in-law, Ingrid (Joe) Picco of Blue Bell, PA and Siggy (Step) Mika of Elkton, MD, many nieces and nephews, fishing buddies, Ron, Scott, and Kyle Vanness, and lifelong friend, Ron Greenleese.

Friends may call 10:00 -12:00 p.m. at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center 1510 W William St, Delaware, OH from 10:00 -12:00 p.m. on Saturday at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr., Delaware where services celebrating the life of William will follow at 12:00 p.m. noon with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating. The Delaware County Veterans Assoc. will fold and present his flag in recognition to his service to Country.
