Dorothy V. Dailey, 89, of Green Camp

Dorothy V. DaileyDorothy V. Dailey, 89 of Green Camp, died Tuesday morning, January 5, 2016 at Heartland of Marion.

She was born February 5, 1926 in Trenton to the late Roy Vernon and Laura Helen (Gray) Schenck.  She was also predeceased by her husband, James L. Dailey, whom she married May 10, 1946 and he died April 4, 1987, one granddaughter Jennifer McClure, one great granddaughter Mercedes Baker, brothers and sisters: Homer, Jack and Robert Schenck, Helen Coate, Mary Watson, Martha Jean Tincher, Carol Markum and Joyce Skinner.

She was a true homemaker in every sense of the word, as she was a talented cook.  Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite times of the year and she enjoyed baking and decorating for the holidays.  Dorothy was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning vegetables.  When she was able, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are her children: Donna (John) Galati, Caledonia, Linda (Roy) Steed, Marion, Mike Dailey, Marion, Bob (Sara) Dailey, Marion and Jeff (Carol) Dailey, Green Camp
Eleven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Sherry Schanie of Hamilton, Pat Harris of Magnetic Springs, William Schenck, Ted Schenck and James (Martha) Schenck all of Trenton.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.
