Doris J. Welch of Port Clinton, OH formerly of Waldo, OH went to be with the Lord on January 8th, 2016.
She was born on January 8th, 1935 to Lloyd W. Evans and Mildred E. (Daniels) Evans in Marion, Ohio.
Doris attended high school in Chesterville, OH, the class of 1953.
She is survived by her loving husband: John Welch; three sons: David (Reva) Basinger of Harrison, MI, Darrel (Donna) Basinger of Marion, OH and John (Ruby) Welch of San Diego, CA; five daughters: Deanna (Tim) Christian of Marion, OH, Tammy (Frank) Hall of Marion, OH, Twila Utley of Marion, OH, Sandi Oliver of Marion, OH and Peggy Polley of Iberia, OH; three sisters: Marty Brooks of Fairfax, Virginia, Evelyn (Vonn) Stowell of Indio, CA and Marilyn Sherman of Las Vegas, NV.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, one daughter: Donna M. Waterhouse, one son: Douglas L. Waterhouse; one brother: Leonard W. Evans; one grandson: Joshua Christian.
Doris leaves behind twenty grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Doris was a member of the Church of Christ Port Clinton, OH, and while living in Waldo, OH she was a member of the Church of Christ in Marion, OH.
Doris enjoyed reading her Bible, going to church services, living for the Lord, living by the lake and visiting with family and friends.
Doris requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to Stein Hospice, 3rd Floor Care Unit, 1912 Hayes Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
The family would like to express a special Thank-You to the staff and volunteers of the Firelands South 3rd Floor Hospice Care Unit and to all of the Hospice Home Care Team.
