Virginia M. Manning, age 74, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 8:45 a.m. on Friday January 8, 2016 at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Trimble, OH in 1941. Virginia married Keith “Mike” Manning on September 16, 1961 in Marion. Virginia and Keith shared a wonderful life together for 54 years.
She received her GED in 1987 and continued her education at college to be a small business owner as a successful cake decorator.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt that would do anything for her family. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved cake decorating. She spent time reading and putting puzzles together. She loved her dog, Truffles and her cat, Patches, along with all the neighborhood cats that spent time on the back porch. She loved watching the birds come to the bird feeders. Virginia and Keith loved traveling, especially loved Sunday afternoon rides on the motorcycle. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her husband Keith of Marion, Dawn (Walt) McClure of Marion and Becky (Laurel) Harriman of Morral; a granddaughter: Abigail; a great-granddaughter: Kylee; one sister, three brothers, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter: Latoya and one grandson: Christopher.
Visitation will be held on Thursday January 14, 2016 at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Graveside service will follow visitation at the Marion Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.boydbornfuneralhome.com
