Richard E. “Dick” Galloway, age 67, of Marion, Ohio, passed away at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Eugene E. Galloway and Edith (Ireland) Galloway, who is still surviving in Zanesville.
Dick was a United States Navy veteran, worked sales at McDaniels Motors for 15 years and Kennedy Ford for 15 years, and retired from Honda of America for the past 5 years.
Dick was a member of the Marion Bowling Hall of Fame. He had numerous 300 games and 800 series, and he bowled in professional tournaments and was the United States Navy Champion. He was a die-hard Cincinnati Reds fan, loved fishing, and enjoyed coaching his sons’ sports teams in football, baseball, basketball, and bowling.
In his retirement, he loved babysitting his grandchildren multiple days a week and bowling in numerous leagues.
Dick is survived by his son Chad (Kerri) Galloway of Portsmouth, Ohio, and his granddaughters Karlee, Caitlyn, and Karaline; his son Shawn (Kassi) Galloway of Marion, Ohio, and his grandson Tucker; his son Grant (Martiqua) Galloway of Marion, Ohio, and his grandson Maddox; his daughter Angel Galloway of Zanesville, Ohio; his brother Steve (Kathi) Galloway of Zanesville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the John M. Boler Activity Center, 590 Forest Lawn Dr., Marion, Ohio. Funeral services will follow on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 7 PM. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in Sonora, Ohio, on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 1 PM.
