Vera G. Bowman, 88, formerly of Caledonia, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at 5:30 AM in the Kindred Health Care Community.
She was born in Hardin County on November 6, 1927 to Wilbur G. and Cora Belle (Ward) Miller.
Vera married Paul E. Bowman in Greenup, Kentucky on November 6, 1944 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 2005 in Marion.
Vera loved being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting an afghan for each new baby born into the family starting with her grand babies. Vera loved working in her numerous flower gardens and watching the many birds that collected around her feeders.
She is survived by four daughters; Judith P. (Franklin) Reed of Caledonia, OH., Jana (Steve) Bauer of Marion, OH., Nancy Joan (David) Hollifield of Fredericktown, OH., & Debra Kay (Wayne) Martin of Mt. Gilead, OH., 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, & 2 great great grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years; Paul, one son, three brothers, & seven sisters.
Friends may call at the Boler Activity Center, 590 Forest Lawn Dr., Marion on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Floyd Radebaugh will conduct the service and burial will follow in the Caledonia Cemetery.
