Marion Public Library unveils new logo

Marion Public LibraryThe Marion Public Library has unveiled many new updates in the past year in an effort to better serve the public. And with National Library Week being celebrated April 10-16, MPL finds it an appropriate time to roll out their new logo.

The new logo marks a renewed freshness to the Library’s image, much like many of the recent physical updates to the facility. The all capitals of the word “LIBRARY” is a focal point of the logo, yet does not take away from the declaration of this being Marion’s Public Library. The vertical lined graphics on the left, as well as the multiple colors, offer an association with the diverse selection available in the collections throughout the Marion Public Library. The overall composition of the logo creates a fun, clean, visually appealing and meaningful association in one’s mind about MPL.

Gary Branson, Marion Public Library Executive Director states, “The timing seemed perfect to review our current logo and ask the question of how well it represents us in the public eye. This updated logo signifies a simpler, straight-forward brand that we feel better tells our story, and can easily be utilized for many years to come.”

With the new logo, new mascot and many other recent updates to the physical building, the Library continues their commitment to create an environment where patrons think of the Marion Public Library as the first source for reading, viewing, listening, downloading and for learning something new. In the coming months, efforts to tell the MPL story will offer a look into the varied facets of your Library’s offerings.

An up-to-date membership gives you the opportunity to borrow not just fiction and nonfiction books, but audio books, blu-rays and dvds, magazines and more. Accessing the MarionLibrary.org online gives you the opportunity to search, download or reserve from the Marion Public Library collections from the comforts of your couch at home.
