Michael Scott Pritchard was born March 7, 1950, in Marion, OH to Carl and Rosalie “Jean” (Miller) Pritchard. Upon graduating from Pleasant High School he volunteered for the Army. His brave service in the Vietnam War earned him the Purple Heart.
In 1972 he married Loretta Hayes and they recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. He retired from Whirlpool after a 35 year career where he developed many friendships. He was an avid River Valley Viking fan and many times a coach for his son’s sports teams over the years.
Mike passed away suddenly on April 14 while preparing for another fishing season on Lake Erie. He loved spending time up at the lake fishing and visiting with his friends at the marina and at the VFW in Marblehead. However nothing brought him more joy than being a proud grandpa to his four grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, son Brian Pritchard and his children Brianna and Tyler of Marion, OH. Also his son Matt Pritchard, daughter-in-law Tera (Bushatz) and their children Annabelle and Madelynn of Chagrin Falls, OH. His brother John of Pensacola, FL and sister Lynda Hughes of Macon, GA, and cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 18, 2016 starting at 5pm to 7pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral home. His funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 11am at the Boyd-Born Funeral home. Online condolences can be expressed to the family at www.boydbornfuneralhome.com
