Robert L. Dowler, age 86, of Marion left this world on Friday April 15, 2016 at Marion Point Care Center.
Robert was born on Thursday September 5, 1929 in Washington Courthouse to the late Verdean and Lucille (Stewart) Dowler.
Robert attended Marion Harding High School before joining the United States Army. He met the love of his life, Mildred Schenk who he married in 1951. Robert and Mildred enjoyed 62 years of marriage and raised 7 wonderful children. Mildred passed on December 29, 2013.
Robert was an assembler at Ranco Inc. He dedicated 25 years of his working career before retiring in 2001.
Robert was a past member of both the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles where he enjoyed dancing. He looked forward to playing bingo and attending horse and dog races. He also spent time landscaping in his yard. Above all, Robert enjoyed the many memories that were made by spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his sons Steve Dowler, Jerry (Connie) Dowler, Phillip (Sheryl) Dowler, Vincent Dowler, Kelly (Maria) Dowler, Rob Dowler; daughter Kim Adkins; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; aunt Mabel Fulton; special friend Linda James and her daughters Julie and Rhonda, and many nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Mildred Dowler, brother Buck Dowler, sister Joanne Geyer, infant son Kevin Dowler, and grandsons Joshua and Joel Dowler.

Private burial will be held at Grand Prairie cemetery.
