Constantina “Kostoula” (Gianicos) Antjas, 81, of Marion, OH, went home to the Lord on April 20th, 2016. She was born on November 14th, 1934 in Tripoli, Greece to Christos and Panayoula (Koliopoulos) Gianicos and immigrated to the United States through Toledo, OH in 1956.
She married Anthony J. Antjas on June 26th, 1960, her loving constant through fifty-six years of marriage. An exceptional seamstress who specialized in wedding gowns, she sewed lovely creations for relatives and customers for many years. She enjoyed baking and cooking for family, friends, and events, and was an active member of her church for more than fifty-five years. She especially loved cooking for, playing with, and caring for her five grandchildren, and tending to her beautiful garden.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony J. Antjas; children John Riyas (Mary) Antjas, Evyenia A. Corbin, and Sophia A. (Ryan) Sparks; grandchildren Anthony J. (Elli Lesch) Antjas, Christopher J. Antjas, Lukas C. Corbin, Nicolas A. Corbin, and Pavlos A. Sparks; siblings Gus (Irene) Gianicos, Louie Gianicos, John (Theodora) Gianicos, Ted (Eva) Gianicos, Matina (Gus) Chavatgas, and Eleni (James) Argyropoulos; and many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 23, 2016 at 1st Presbyterian Church, 143 South Prospect St., at 2PM with Rev. Fr. Michael J. Ellis officiating; Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday April 22, 2016 at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 5PM to 8PM; Trisagion prayer service will be at 7:30 PM.
