Jack Lee Allard, age 81, longtime resident of Marion, passed away peacefully at his home on November 27, 2017. He was born to Clifford and Essie (Patrick) in Portsmouth, OH on Aug. 22, 1936.
In 1955, Jack married Shirley A. Horsely, who preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dean “Rick” Allard.
Jack was employed with Marion Power Shovel for 42 years as a lathe operator/machinist. He was a motorcycle and hotrod enthusiast and was a lifetime member of the AMA, a longtime member of the Ohio Valley BSA owner’s club, and a member of the Marion Area flywheel club. In high school his nickname was “Hot Rod”, and he is still known to some as “Alley-Oop”.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Jim Allard, of Florida; sons, Bryan (Peggy) Allard, of Richwood, and Ronald P. Allard, of Marion: Goddaughter Brittany M. Foreman of Marion; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; Life companion and best friend, Virginia K. McDole, and his two furry friends, Angel and Daisy.
Calling hours will be observed on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:30am at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev.
