Proposals Sought For Senior Services Grant Funds

Beginning June 1, the Marion County Council on Aging will begin accepting proposals for senior services for 2011. Complete bid packets, containing detailed service specifications and other necessary information, will be available for all agencies who are interested in applying for funding.

Services to be funded in 2011 include Transportation, In-Home Care, Chore, Personal Shopping, Home-Delivered Meals, and Adult Day Care. Funding for these services is made possible through the Senior Services Levy that was approved by Marion County voters in 2006. In 2010, the Council on Aging awarded contracts totaling nearly $650,000 for home and community-based services for Marion County older adults.

The deadline to return completed applications is Friday, July 30, 2010.

Agencies who wish more information on how to submit a proposal should contact Bede Agner, Director of the Marion County Council on Aging, at 740-387-0401.
