Dorothy J. Blosser, 90, of Mount Gilead

Dorothy J. Blosser, age 90, of Mount Gilead, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Woodside Village Care Center following a short illness.

Born on April 17, 1921, in Corning, Ohio, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Waxman) Eing.

Dorothy was a simple woman, a self proclaimed “country girl.”  She was very thrifty as a result of growing up during the depression.  She was quite content with her role as a loving homemaker, always being there for her family to help in any way she could.

With a love of nature, Dorothy adored animals and being outdoors.  She especially enjoyed bird watching, her cats, and tending to the flowers in her garden.

She will always be remembered for her kindness, the love she gave others, and for making the best butterscotch pie.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her two children: Rebecca Terry of Mount Gilead, Charles (Helga) Arter of Greenfield, Indiana; three grandchildren: Shanna (Eric) Griffith of Mount Gilead, Jason (Rachel) Terry of Albany, Ohio, Nick (Jamie) Terry of Marengo; six grandchildren: Steven and Kieli Griffith, Jenna and Caleb Terry, and Kamberly and Raina Terry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Neil E. Arter; her second husband, William J. Blosser; a daughter, Margaret Ward; a son-in-law, Sanford Terry, and seven brothers and sisters.

A graveside funeral service honoring Dorothy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 with Pastor Ken Lowry officiating.

Memorial contributions, if desired may be made to the Humane Society of Morrow County, P.O. Box 298, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338.
