Geneieve Ilene "Gertie" Thompson age 81 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.
She was born July 28, 1930 in Marion, Ohio to the late Elmer and Mae (Vought) Miley.
On July 31, 1948 she married Cobern Thompson, he preceded her in death in 1978.
Geneieve was employed for several years at Henney & Cooper and Rite Aid as a clerk.
She is survived by two sons, Dorman " Pete" (Teri) Knapp of Marion, OH., Cobern "Tom" (Sherri) Thompson of Marion, OH., a daughter, Cheryl (Donald) Miley of Prospect, OH., nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Ralph Miley of Waldo, OH., Glen (Jerri) Miley of Marion, OH., a sister, June Augenstine of Marion, OH., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Geneieve was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Alexander and Geneva Chatfield, two grandsons and one great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 @ 11:30 AM with Pastor Ron Douglas officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 10 – 11 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
