Ora Seymour, age 95, of Mount Gilead, died on Monday, October 31, 2011, at the Morrow County Hospital.
Ora was born on July 30, 1916, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Lewis and Lillian (Carroll) Seymour.
On August 30, 1937, Ora married the love of his life, Mary E. DeVault. Together they shared over 58 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on May 31, 1996.
For many years, Ora was a truck driver for City Products hauling coal and ice.
Ora will be remembered as a nice and friendly man who loved his dogs, listening to country music, and playing Bingo.
Ora will be dearly missed by his children: Carl (Ruth) Seymour of Vinton, Ohio, Donald Seymour of Port Orange, Florida, Larry Seymour of Cleveland, Phyllis (Jerry) Rockefeller of Dearing, Georgia; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Carlyn Seymour of Columbia, Alabama; his sisters: Francis Carson of Columbus, Romona (Henry) Robles of California; and special friend and caregiver Mary Ann Ackerman of Mount Gilead.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ora was preceded in death by five children: Richard, James, Gerald, Jerry, David, and Joyce Seymour; three brothers: Lloyd, Ray and Lincoln Seymour; and two sisters, Meldrid and Effie.
