Ronald E. Murphy age 66 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Monday November 28, 2011 at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1945 in Marion to the late James Hammond and Martha Alice (Columber) Murphy.
On August 20, 1963 in Marion, Ron married Jackline Maxine Lawhun and she survives.
Ronald attended the Lighthouse of Prayer Church in Marion and was a people person. He had various hobbies, especially working with wood, and he was an avid Ohio State Fan.
At one time, Ron was a contractor with G. & T. Construction, a family business. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Ronald is survived by three daughters and a son; Tammy (David) Sisson of Marion, Tina (Nick) McDonald of Richwood, Ohio, Terina (Brian) Charles also of Marion, and Timmy Eugene (Teresa) Murphy of Mt. Gilead, Ohio. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; Two sisters and a brother; Ruthann Howard, Diana (Troy) Risner and Danny (Nan) Murphy all of Marion, and six nieces and two nephews. Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother Donald and one niece and one nephew.
Funeral Services will be Friday December 2, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Brother Lindsey. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Larue, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday December 1, 2011 from 4 to 8 P.M. and also on friday one hour prior to the service from 12 noon to 1 P.M.
