Roberta Isabel “Issy” Ransome passed away peacefully Friday evening, June 4, 2010 at Kingston Residence of Marion.
She was 87 years old; born February 5, 1923 in Marion County to the late Robert L. and Lucy (Brady) Bauer.
Her husband, John S. Ransome, whom she married December 31, 1952 in Marion, passed away in December of 1977.
Issy was a 1941 graduate of New Bloomington High School. She was a member of Marion Senior Center, and St. Mary’s Church.
She is survived by three brothers, Richard (Mary Jane) Bauer of Lithoplis, Ohio, Dennis Bauer of Wooster, Ohio, and John (Carol) Bauer of Huntington, Indiana; two sisters, Rachel Barnes of Kissimmee, Florida, and Dorothy (Paul) Fields of Marion; and 24 nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bauer.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Nimocks. A mass will be held at 11 AM and the family will greet friends and loved ones one hour prior. Burial will follow in Agosta Cemetery in New Bloomington. Pallbearers will be Fred, Ed, Phillip, Roy, Dean, and Jay Bauer. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph, George, and Croft Bauer.
Contributions in memory of Issy may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and New Bloomington Methodist Church.
