Ann J. Burris, of Marion, passed away peacefully and privately Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Heartland of Marion.
She was born October 17, 1924 to the late Marguerite and Carl Zink in Marion, OH.
Ann attended Marion Catholic high School and was then married to Robert P. Burris February 13, 1943. He preceded her in death in August of 1979.
In her early years, Ann was a homemaker and a wonderful mother to her four children. She later worked for and retired from Meijer. A woman of devout faith she was a member of St. Mary Church in Marion, OH.
Ann’s family meant the world to her along with gardening, crafts, working crossword puzzles (with her favorite grandson, Mikie) and following “The Young and the Restless” for decades! Her famous meatballs and sauce will be forever missed as well.
Ann is survived by her children, Linda (Howard) Syck of South Carolina, Mike (Theresa) Burris of Mt. Vernon, OH, Robert (Pam) Burris of Marion, OH and daughter/best friend Julie Ann McKinniss of Marion, OH. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren as well as 17 great grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Francis Zink, and one grandson.
Friends may call Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 2 PM until 6 PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. Mary Church with Fr. Michael Nimocks officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
