Gerald LeRoy Kellogg, age 84, of Marion passed away early Wednesday morning at Marion General Hospital.
Born in Marion on October 22, 1927 to Glen R. and Pauline (Riley) Kellogg.
Gerald married the former Geraldine DeWitt on December 24, 1947 in Oakland E.U.B. Church.
He retired in 1989 as the Maintenance Supervisor of Marion Correctional Institution, was formerly active in the Baseball For Boys program and had attended Mt. Vernon Avenue Church Of Christ.
Gerald was preceded in death by a brother; Leonard Kellogg, a grandson; Scott L. Pierce and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife of almost 64 years; Geraldine Kellogg of Marion, his son; Gary (Lisa) Kellogg of Prospect, his daughter; Cathy (LeRoy) Pierce of Marion, his brother; Jack (Bea) Kellogg of Marion, his sister; Marilyn (LeRoy) Dean of Marion, 5 grandchildren; Heather (Brooke) Lower, Erin (Tim) Eckenrode, Aunalee Kellogg, Jessica (Phil) Schindewolf and Rachel (Wes) Sharp, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Lyle Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home on Friday from Noon until the time of services.
