Richard D. “Dick” Howard, age 59, of Mount Gilead, died Thursday morning, December 29, 2011, at his residence.
Dick was born in Morrow County on July 22, 1952 the son of Dorothy (Sipes) Howard Clark and the late Robert B. Howard. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the Class of 1970.
Dick recently retired from Wyandot Inc. in Marion, where he was employed for almost 20 years. He had also owned his own business; Howard’s Heating, Electric and Plumbing.
Dick will be remembered for being a stubborn, bull headed man with a wonderful sense of humor. He always enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and spending time with friends and family.
Dick will be dearly missed by his wife of 29 years, Judy M. (March) Howard; his mother, Dorothy Howard Clark; two daughters, Leslie (William) Baldwin, Lori (Stan) Stoney; two step-sons, Rodney and Jason Seitz; seven grandchildren: Lacie and Joseph Baldwin, Lexie and C.J. Stoney, Kimberlyn, Brady, and Jacob Seitz; and his brother, Dale (Kimbra) Howard.
In addition to his father, Dick was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dwight and Marie Howard, and Lewis and Anna Sipes.
The Howard family will greet friends from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012, at the Snyder Funeral Home Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services celebrating his life will be held there immediately after at 1:00 p.m. with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
