Holly Wilbur Monroe age 80 of Marion, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Partners of Marion Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Holly, (S.M.S, United States Air Force, retired), was born on October 30, 1931 in Spencer, West Virginia to James Edward Monroe and Jeanette Mildred (Etling) Monroe.
Holly W. Monroe holds a Masters in Business Administration from Troy University. He served our country for 41 years in the United States Air Force where he retired as Senior Master Sergent.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Monroe; sons Greg A. (Delphine) Monroe of Pensacola, Florida, James D."Jim" (Cathy) Monroe of Pensacola, Florida, Rick E. (Terri) Martin of of Marion, Ohio and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His siblings are: Hershel Stephen ( Marietta) Monroe, Everett Glen (Gerey) Monroe, James Stanley (Diane) Monroe, Jean Elios (Monroe) Lescord, Doris Ann (Monroe) Coulson, George Ray (Elah) Monroe, Gary Lee Monroe (deceased), and Vernon Edward Monroe.
Holly W. Monroe enjoyed working in the yard and gardening, writing, watching Fox News, devotions with his wife Betty, and serving the Lord.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, January 9, 2012 from 6 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A Private Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2012 with Pastor Michael Reynolds and Pastor John Jones officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Council.
