Free Shredding at Marion Credit Union

Marion Community Credit Union is sponsoring a Community Shred Day on Saturday, June 12, 2010 starting at 8:30 a.m. and running till noon at the credit union’s branch at 300 Barks Road East.

There is no cost for this service and it is available for MCCU members and non-members alike. The shredding will be done by Sharp Shred LLC and will be secure and certified.

Every household and business has confidential information that should be shredded. The day to day functions of any business will produce a surprising amount of information that could be used against the business by its competitors. This list includes; internal memos, drafts of documents, quotes, financial printouts, pay stubs, credit card applications, as well as expired credit cards, passports and visas.

An estimated $100 billion a year is lost to information thieves. This service is provided by the Marion Community Credit Union.
