Luella M. Schwartz, 94, died peacefully in her sleep February 16, 2012 at Kingston Residence of Marion Memory Care Unit.
Luella was born January 17, 1918 in Marion, Ohio to Henry and Martha (Watson) Anderson. She was the youngest of three children.
Luella was a lifelong resident of Marion. She was a public service employee for over 40 years. She worked at the Marion Chamber of Commerce, the Marion County Treasurer’s office, Marion County Children’s Services, the Ohio Department of Transportation office in Delaware and retired in 1993 as the Chief Deputy Clerk of Juvenile Court under Thomas Jenkins. Luella enjoyed volunteering at the Palace Theater where she helped to organize and maintain the costume room.
Luella is preceded in death by her parents, her son Donald K. Schwartz (1988) and brothers Robert and Kenyon. She is survived by her son Steve (Doris) Schwartz, Marion, Ohio; Grandson Brian (Beth) Schwartz and their children, great-granddaughters Andrea Rose Schwartz and Ella Nicole Schwartz, Huron, Ohio; granddaughter Lindsey (David) Willey and newborn great-granddaughter Layla Louise Willey of Richwood, Ohio; nephews Keith (Mary Ann) Anderson of Wauseon, OH and James (Sandy) Anderson of Clyde, OH.
Luella’s family will receive friends and family at Gunder, Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 West Center St., Marion, OH Sunday, February 19 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at Gunder, Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with burial to follow at Marion Cemetery with Fr. Michael Nimocks officiating.
